Fox serves as Chief Operating Officer, where he is responsible for oversight of all operations, including policies, systems, and training implementation, and successful lease-up and continued stabilization of communities under all verticals.
Fox started his senior living career 20 years ago, immediately after graduating from college. Upon graduation with a bachelor’s degree in Business, Fox felt a calling to do something related to ministry or service to others. He made plans to attend seminary to earn a Master’s degree and saw himself going to work in a not for profit church related ministry after graduation. Not knowing that God had other plans, he accepted his first professional position with the idea that he would simply work while attending seminary. It only took a few short weeks in his new role for him to fall in love with the senior living industry and realize that serving seniors was his professional calling. Upon this realization, Fox returned to school at night and earned an MBA while working as an Executive Director, instead of attending seminary.
During Fox’s varied career in senior living, he has had the experience of working in all facets of the industry. He has managed anything from a HUD 202/Section 8 subsidized community, to a 58 unit stand-alone assisted living community, to a 500+ resident Life Care Community, to a region of 33 communities, to a company with 30 locations in five states and everything in between. Fox has held nursing home administrator’s licenses in the following states: Alabama, Louisiana, Texas and Tennessee. In addition to residential based services, he has experience managing several community-based services, such as home health, outpatient therapy, a CCRC without walls, and private duty.
Fox has been instrumental in successfully opening or repositioning over 20 communities throughout his career at the community, regional and corporate levels. He successfully opened his first community in 2000 for Sunrise as an Executive Director. The community opened with over 40% of the apartments leased during the pre-opening phase. As a Regional VP of Operations Fox was responsible for opening a high end SNF or Healthcare Center in Lakeway, TX. In his previous role at Morning Pointe Senior Living, as Senior Vice President of Operations, Fox led the management company that successfully grew the portfolio of communities from 16 locations to 30 within a five-year timeframe, solely through new development. In addition to the 14 ground-up developments, he also oversaw two different repositioning opportunities where older assets were converted from assisted living through extensive renovations and rebranding to stand alone memory care communities. While at Morning Pointe Fox led a team comprised of over 1,300 team members that cared for over 1,500 residents daily in 30 communities across five states. In addition to supporting the community and regional teams, Fox led the staff at the home office support center, under the direction of the two owners and principals of the parent company, Independent Healthcare Properties.
He holds a BA in Business Management and an MBA from Southeastern Louisiana University.
